Ms. Stroup practices in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation. She represents clients in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. She has co-written a petition for certiorari filed with the United States Supreme Court and appellate briefs filed with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Massachusetts Appeals Court. While in law school, Ms. Stroup interned with Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services, the Honorable Nancy Gertner, United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the Committee for Public Counsel Services, and ZRLD. As a law student intern at ZRLD, Ms. Stroup worked with Inga Bernstein on an employment discrimination and retaliation trial in federal court, in which they won a $2.2 million jury verdict on behalf of their client. Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Stroup served in AmeriCorps and VISTA, and was a bicycle mechanic.
